Winter Storm Warning

Statement as of 9:47 am EST on November 26, 2014

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 7 am EST

Thursday.

* hazard types... heavy snow.

* Accumulations... 8 to 12 inches of snow.

* Timing... snow will begin this morning across southern New

Hampshire... and this afternoon across the rest of New Hampshire

and western Maine. Snow will become heavy for a time Wednesday

evening... before tapering off early Thursday.

* Impacts... snow will cause treacherous Road conditions on a

very busy travel day. Snowfall rates of over 1 inch per hour

are possible. Additionally... heavy wet snow near the coast

may cause scattered power outages.

* Winds... north 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.

* Visibilities... one quarter mile or less at times.

* Temperatures... in the lower 30s.

 

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather

conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow

are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an

emergency. If you must travel... keep an extra flashlight...

food... and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
