Winter Storm Warning
Statement as of 4:33 PM EST on November 26, 2014
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 7 am EST
Thursday.
* hazard types... heavy snow.
* Accumulations... 8 to 14 inches of snow.
* Timing... snow will continue through the overnight hours...
before tapering off early Thursday morning.
* Impacts... widespread power outages are likely. Snow will cause
treacherous Road conditions on a very busy travel day. Snowfall
rates may reach 1 to 3 inches per hour at times.
Additionally... the heavy wet snow and gusty winds will likely
cause power outages.
* Winds... north 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.
* Visibilities... one quarter mile or less at times.
* Temperatures... in the upper 20s to lower 30s.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow
are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an
emergency. If you must travel... keep an extra flashlight...
food... and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
