Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM EST this

evening.

* locations... Kennebec... Waldo... Sagadahoc... Lincoln... and Knox

counties in Maine.

* Hazard types... snow and blowing snow.

* Accumulations... snow accumulation of 3 to 6 inches.

* Timing... light snow is expected to develop by morning then continue through much of the day. Winds are expected to increase markedly as the day progresses which will result in areas of

blowing snow.

* Impacts... the potential for slippery roads and sharply reduced visibilities in snow and blowing snow.

* Winds... northwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

* Visibilities... one half mile or less at times.

* Temperatures... in the lower 20s.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow means that

visibilities will be limited due to a combination of falling and

blowing snow. Use caution when traveling... especially in open

areas.
