Winter Storm Warning Statement as of 2:58 PM EST on February 24, 2013

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until midnight EST tonight.

* locations. much of southern and central Maine from the coast to the foothills and east central and southeastern New Hampshire.

* Hazard types. snow.

* Accumulations. snow accumulation of 8 to 12 inches with locally higher amounts.

* Timing. Snow, heavy at times will taper off to snow showers this evening.

* Impacts. roads will be snow covered and slippery. Wet snow may bring down tree limbs and cause scattered power outages.

* Winds. north 5 to 10 mph.

* Temperatures. around 30.

Precautionary/preparedness actions.

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in

an emergency. If you must travel keep an extra flashlight food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
