Winter Weather Advisory, Statement as of 3:34 am EST on February 23, 2013

Winter Weather Advisory in effect from midnight tonight to midnight EST Sunday night...

The National Weather Service in gray has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for snow... which is in effect from midnight tonight to midnight EST Sunday night. The Winter Storm Watch is no longer in

effect.

* Locations... western Maine.

* Hazard types... snow... .mixed with rain at times along the

coast.

* Accumulations... snow accumulation of 3 to 8 inches.

* Timing... this will be a long duration snowfall... although it

will mainly be light... beginning late tonight and continuing

into Sunday evening. The most persistent snow will fall during

the day Sunday.

* Impacts... roads will become snow covered and slippery. Along the

coast and in interior southwest Maine... the snow may be heavy and

wet... and higher accumulations could bring down scattered tree

limbs and branches.

* Winds... northeast 5 to 10 mph.

* Temperatures... lows 25 to 30... highs 30 to 35.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow will

cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered

roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while driving.
