Winter Weather Advisory in effect until 6 PM EST this

evening.

The National Weather Service in gray has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for snow and a thin coating of ice which is in effect until 6 PM EST this evening.

* Locations... New Hampshire and western Maine.

* Hazard types... snow and a coating of ice.

* Accumulations... snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches... along with a

coating of ice.

* Timing... snow will continue to change to sleet and freezing rain

this afternoon and possibly rain along the coast. Snow will continue

in the mountains of western Maine through the evening.

* Impacts... accumulation of snow and ice will make for slippery

travel conditions.

* Winds... variable around 10 mph.

* Temperatures... in the mid to upper 20s... except 30s right along

the coast.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... or

freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for

slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while

driving.
