Winter Storm Watch in effect from Saturday evening through Sunday afternoon.

The National Weather Service in gray has issued a Winter Storm Watch... which is in effect from Saturday evening through Sunday afternoon.

* Locations... Kennebec... Waldo... Sagadahoc... Lincoln... and Knox counties in Maine.

* Hazard types... the potential for heavy snow with blowing and drifting.

* Accumulations... 6 or more inches possible.

* Timing... some light snow is expected to occur Saturday daytime.

However... the main part of the event and the potential for heavy snow is expected Saturday night and Sunday.

* Impacts... the potential for slippery roads and reduced visibilities in snow.

* Winds north 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph late Saturday night and Sunday.

* Temperatures in the mid 20s.

* Visibilities... a half mile or less possible.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant

snow... sleet... or ice accumulations that may impact travel.
