Thursday, September 1 local weather readings

Good morning from the northwest end of Augusta, Maine where it is starting out to be another absolutely wonderful day.

Right now we have full sun and a forecast of sunny without clouds for the day - and:

a relative humidity of 86%

It is61.2 ยบ f.

a wind velocity that is gusting up to1.3  MPH directly out of the North.

And our Barometric pressure is 30.20 and rising.

It is a gorgeous day here!

Weather readings on this blog are taken from my LaCrosse wireless weather station, 2800 series, in real time. This is NOT an airport, where most such readings come via an authoritative governmental source of some sort.

For example, my anemometer is not mounted 30 feet above the nearest obstruction within 300 feet.

It is mounted at about 11 feet above the ground at the edge of a cornfield on the north side of our house. (its down where "real people" feel the wind)

We tend to get our real nasty weather out of the North, so the wind and temperature readings can be considered fairly unencumbered. In short, I try to provide weather readings that regular folks are likely to experience. Aftter all, I'm not a meteorologist.
