The National Weather Service in Gray has issued a

* Flood Advisory for...

Southeastern Kennebec County in south central Maine...

Knox County in south central Maine...

Lincoln County in south central Maine...

Eastern Sagadahoc County in south central Maine...

Waldo County in south central Maine...

Cumberland County in southwestern Maine...

* Until 1:00 PM EDT.

* At 950 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated

heavy rain. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly

in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen.

 

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...

Augusta, Bath, Rockland, Belfast, Gardiner, Camden, Damariscotta,

Lincolnville, Wiscasset, and Searsport.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the

area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

deaths occur in vehicles.

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where

you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become

killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or

creeks.
