#MEwx cold, snow on the way and Lovelight Chocolate Cake

We're under a Winter Storm Watch, I've posted it in the post preceding this one.

This morning we have mostly sunny skies, becoming mostly cloudy. Highs in the upper 20s with northeast winds around 10 mph. Wind chill values as low as 10 below.

Tonight we'll have Snow accumulation of 3 to 6 inches. Not as cold with lows in the mid 20s. Northeast winds 15 to 20 mph gusting to 30 mph.

Our outdoor temperature is 2.1°F, the humidity is 60%, the Dew point is -8.5°F with a wind chill of 2.3°F.

The wind direction is Northwest between 0.9 MPH and 2.5 MPH.

We didn't receive any snow here over the past 24 hours.

Valentine's Day is 2 weeks off, so you'll have a lot of recipes I'll be posting to choose from. Let's start with:

LOVELIGHT CHOCOLATE CAKE

1.         Grease and flour 2 round cake pans, or one 13"x9" pan.

2.         Beat until frothy 2 egg whites.

3.         Gradually beat in ½ cup sugar; continue beating until very stiff and glossy.

4.         Sift together into another bowl 2 ¼ cups sifted cake flour, 1 cup sugar, 3 tsp. baking powder, 1 tsp. salt.

5.         Add ⅓ cup vegetable oil, ½ cup milk.

6.         Beat 1 minute on medium speed.

7.         Add ½ cup milk, 2 egg yolks, 1 ½ tsp. vanilla.

8.         Beat 1 minute, scraping bowl constantly.

9.         Fold in meringue.

10.       Pour into prepared pans.

11.       Bake at 350⁰ for 30-35 minutes in layer pans, or 40-45 minutes for larger pan.

12.       Ice as desired.
