Try making your own kind of “chips” to get away from the over-salted and airy brands on the store shelves.

Tortilla Chips

Use Tortilla rounds of your favorite flavor, I use the corn type.

First, take at least two of the tortilla rounds and, using either a pizza cutter or sharp knife, cut each one into 8 wedges.

16 wedges will fit just right on a cookie sheet.

Cover the cookie sheet with aluminum foil, the non-stick stuff is the best – and lay the wedges out on it.

IF you want the chips salted, spray them with PAM cooking spray and then salt them.

If you do not want them salted, you needn’t spray them.

Preheat oven to 400ºF. and bake for 10 minutes.

Test to see if they are crisp enough. If not put them back in the oven for an additional 2 minutes.

NOTE: if you are sighted, you will know they are done (crisp enough) by looking at them to see how brown they are.

The cooking spray makes them turn brown.
