Winter Storm Warning

Statement as of 4:15 PM EDT on October 29, 2011

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 8 PM this evening

to 2 PM EDT Sunday...

locations... central and northern New Hampshire as well as

interior southern and central Maine... including the western

Maine mountains.

Hazard types... heavy wet snow.

Accumulations... 5 to 9 inches of snow.

Timing... rain or snow will begin in the area around sunset. Any

rain will change to wet snow during the evening hours. The

precipitation is expected to start as all snow in the higher

elevations. The heaviest snowfall is expected to fall overnight

into early Sunday morning. The snow will diminish intensity

early Sunday morning... and should end by midday.

Impacts... tree damage and power outages from heavy wet snow

and wind. Roads will become snow covered and slippery

overnight.

Winds... north 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

Temperatures... in the lower 30s.
