...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT NORTHEASTERN KENNEBEC...WALDO AND
SOUTHEASTERN SOMERSET COUNTIES THROUGH 6:30 PM EDT...
At 5:46 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Newport to near Waterville. Movement was
east at 30 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Waterville, Belfast, Fairfield, Camden, Lincolnville, Searsport,
Pittsfield, Thorndike, Oakland, China, Clinton, Liberty, Winterport,
Palermo, Stockton Springs, Islesboro, Unity, Prospect, Knox, and
Benton.
This includes Interstate 95 between mile markers 124 and 156.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
