FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON EDT TODAY.

* WHAT...Minor flooding caused by heavy rain with high rainfall rates.

* WHERE...Portions of Maine, including the following counties,

Androscoggin, Franklin, Kennebec and Oxford and northern New Hampshire, including the following county, Coos.

* WHEN...Until noon EDT.

* IMPACTS...Overflowing poor drainage areas and some water over roadways.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

- At 10:03 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area.

- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected

over the area. Some of the stronger showers will have high

rainfall rates capable of dropping a quick inch of rain in a few minutes. This additional rain could result in minor flooding.

- Some locations that will experience flooding include...

Berlin, Farmington, Bethel, Rumford, Jay, Belgrade, Livermore Falls, Dixfield, Canton and Andover.

 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Campers and hikers should avoid streams or creeks.
