northwestern Rockingham...Strafford...Belknap...Merrimack and Carroll

Counties...

 

At 5:16 PM EDT...An area of heavy snow was along a line extending from

near Thorndike to near Effingham...and moving west AT 30 MPH.

 

Locations impacted include...

Portland, Concord, Lewiston, Rochester, South Portland, Auburn,

Biddeford, Brunswick, Augusta, Laconia, Westbrook, Waterville,

Conway, Bath, Franklin, Farmington, Rockland, Belfast, Fairfield and

Gardiner.

This includes the following highways...

Interstate 293 between mile markers 9 and 11.

Interstate 295 between mile markers 1 and 51.

Interstate 89 between mile markers 0 and 22.

Interstate 93 between mile markers 24 and 68.

Interstate 95 between mile markers 12 and 157.

Interstate 95 between mile markers 158 and 159.

This also includes...

  Lake Winnipesaukee, Sebago Lake, Mount Kearsage, Pleasant Mountain,

and Burnt Meadow Mountains.

  Peaks Island, Long Island, Cushing Island, Cousins Island, and

Bailey Island.

  * Winds in excess of 35 mph are possible with this area of heavy

  snow.

  * Visibilities will drop quickly to less than a quarter mile in

  this area of heavy snow.

  * Snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour are occurring in this

  area of heavy snow.

 

Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Be

prepared for snow or ice covered roads. Slow down and allow extra

time when traveling.
