An area of heavy snow will affect northern Kennebec...northwestern Knox...Waldo...northwestern Oxford...Somerset...Franklin and
northeastern Coos Counties.
At 7:03 AM EST...An area of heavy snow was along a line extending from
near Pittsburg to near Stonington...and moving northeast AT 40 MPH.
Locations impacted include...
Waterville, Farmington, Belfast, Fairfield, Camden, Lincolnville,
Eustis, Coburn Gore, Rangeley, Skowhegan, Searsport, Pittsfield,
Thorndike, Oakland, Madison, Jay, China, Clinton, Belgrade and
Kingfield.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 95 between mile markers 120 and 157.
Interstate 95 between mile markers 158 and 159.
This also includes...
First Connecticut Lake, Saddleback Mountain, Sugarloaf Mountain,
Crocker Mountain, and The Bigelows.
* Visibilities will drop quickly to less than a quarter mile in this area of heavy snow.
* Sudden and brief snowfall rates greater than 2 inches per hour are possible in this area of heavy snow.
Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Be
prepared for snow or ice covered roads. Slow down and allow extra
time when traveling.
