Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of southwestern Kennebec, southern Oxford, Androscoggin, northwestern Cumberland and northwestern Sagadahoc Counties through 4:15 PM EDT.
At 3:37 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from Turner to Mechanic Falls to near Bridgton.
Movement was east at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Lewiston, Conway, Gardiner, Bridgton, Fryeburg, Mechanic Falls,
Naples, Turner, Topsham, Gray, Litchfield, Farmingdale, Manchester,
Hallowell, Hiram, Raymond, Winthrop, Lisbon, Greene and Durham.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 295 between mile markers 38 and 51.
Interstate 95 between mile markers 63 and 107.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
