A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of northeastern Kennebec, northwestern Waldo and southeastern Somerset Counties

through 5:45 PM EDT...

At 5:26 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near

Pittsfield, moving east at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around

unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is

possible.

Locations impacted include...

Fairfield, Pittsfield, Skowhegan, Clinton, Canaan, Hartland,

Cornville, Burnham, Detroit, Palmyra and Troy.

This includes Interstate 95 between mile markers 140 and 157.

 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to

localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded

roadways.
