BAND OF HEAVY SNOW MOVING SOUTH THROUGH THE AREA.

At 2:25 PM EST...A band of heavy snow was along a line extending from

Columbia to near Henniker...and moving southeast at 30 MPH. As this

band continues to sink south conditions will deteriorate and last

about an hour before tapering off.

Locations impacted include...

Manchester, Nashua, Portland, Concord, Lewiston, Derry, Rochester,

South Portland, Auburn, Biddeford, Portsmouth, Brunswick, Augusta,

Laconia, Westbrook, Waterville, Hampton, Exeter, Conway and Berlin.

This includes the following highways...

Interstate 293 between mile markers 1 and 11.

Interstate 295 between mile markers 1 and 51.

Interstate 89 between mile markers 0 and 8.

Interstate 93 between mile markers 2 and 122.

Interstate 95 between mile markers 1 and 157.

Interstate 95 in New Hampshire between mile markers 0 and 16.

Interstate 95 between mile markers 158 and 159.

This also includes...

Lake Winnipesaukee, Sebago Lake, Crawford Notch State Park,

Franconia Notch, and Umbagog Lake State Park. Peaks Island, Long

Island, Cushing Island, Cousins Island, and Bailey Island.

* Snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour are occurring in this

area of heavy snow.

Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Be

prepared for snow or ice covered roads. Slow down and allow extra

time when traveling.
