#MEwx Cold, with rain/snow moving in tonight

Good morning Augusta

We’re under a winter Weather Advisory, so pay attention.

This morning we have partly sunny skies with highs in the mid 30s. Light and variable winds.

Tonight we’ll have rain likely or a chance for snow during evening hours, then rain or snow or sleet after midnight. Patchy fog after midnight. Snow and sleet accumulation of 2

to 4 inches. Not as cold with lows in the lower 30s. Light and variable winds, becoming south around 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph after midnight.

The readings from my weather instruments are:

The Wind Chill is 19.6°F, Dew Point is 9.7°F, the humidity is 65%, and the outdoor temp is 19.6°F.

The wind direction is North Northeast between 0.2 MPH and 0.4 MPH.

The Relative pressure is 30.29, the Absolute pressure is 30.09 and rising with a weather graphic indicating sun.

Visibility is 10.0 miles / 16.1 Kilometers with overcast conditions to 5,000 ft / 1,524 m.

The UV rating is 0 out of 16, Sunrise is 7:14 A.M., Sunset is 4:09 P.M., Moonrise is 1:40 A.M., Moonset is 12:53 P.M. and the moon phase is waning crescent being % illuminated.

Augusta’s RAW METAR readings are:

METAR KAUG 311153Z AUTO 04003KT 10SM OVC050 M07/M09 A3034 RMK AO2 SLP281 T10721089 11067 21072 53017

We didn’t receive any rain or snow here over the past 24 hours.

In two days it will be “next year.” I’m not making any new year’s resolution because I never keep them anyway.

All I can say is that I wish the carnival down in Washington DC will cease. The Democrats have apparently decided that they will meet the President in kind.

It reminds me of the lyrics to that old Emerson, Lake and Palmer song “Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends. We’re so glad you can attend, come inside, come inside.” (Karn Evil 9)
