Like many of you, I’ve been listening to the post-game analysis of Sunday night’s debate.  Wow.  What a spread of opinions about it.

Trump claims victory.  Others say he’s losing so badly he is focusing on insults.

One person likened Trump’s performance like a boy losing a fight on the playground.  “If you know you’re going to lose the fight, make sure the other guy ends up knowing he’s been in a fight.”

Yet another person compared Trump to Maine’s governor Paul LePage.  Governor LePage ran a chain of discount department stores before he ran for governor and claimed his business experiences would make him an excellent governor.  What he learned, and so did the residents of Maine was this:  As governor the people “under you” aren’t “under you” at all.  You can’t bully them or fire them if they don’t do what you told them to do.

In fact, they not only do not fear you, if they hate you enough they will make your life pure hell, and will do everything possible to get rid of you.

The lesson?  Businessmen make lousey governors unless they learn to drop the “I’m in charge” attitude and work with fellow elected representatives of the American people.

What about Hillary?  Look, when you were a kid and either shaded the truth or got caught in a lie to your mother, what happened to you?  Did she pat you on the head and say “oaky dear, just don’t do it again, okay?”  Or were you reminded of it during extended punishment and suffered a lack of trust from her for well, maybe she stilld doesn’t fully trust you.

My point is this, no matter who you want to vote for there is such a thing as respect.

“If you have to ask for respect you will never get it.  It must be earned and freely given or it will never come.”
