Winter Weather Advisory
Statement as of 5:30 am EST on December 6, 2014
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM EST this
evening.
* hazard types... snow... sleet... and freezing rain.
* Accumulations... snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches... along
with around a tenth of an inch of ice.
* Timing... snow will transition to sleet and freezing rain
during the morning. Temperatures may begin to warm above
freezing during the afternoon... but some locations may stay
colder with freezing rain lasting later into the afternoon.
* Impacts... freezing rain will cause ice to form on exposed
surfaces including roads. Driving will be dangerous with ice
accumulation on roads. Ice accretion on trees may cause
scattered power outages.
* Temperatures... in the upper 20s to low 30s.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.
