Winter Weather Advisory
Statement as of 2:50 PM EST on January 16, 2013
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until midnight EST
tonight.
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow remains in effect until
midnight EST tonight.
* Locations... the Maine foothills eastward to central Maine and
the mid coast.
* Hazard types... snow. There is a low probability of some light
freezing drizzle this evening when the snow comes to an end.
* Accumulations... 4 to 6 inches of snow.
* Timing... snow will continue late this afternoon... coming to an
end this evening.
* Impacts... slippery roadways and reduced visibilities to less
than a half mile at times.
* Winds... east 5 to 10 mph.
* Temperatures... in the upper 20s.
* Visibilities... brief periods of a half mile or less at times.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.
