Winter Storm Watch

Winter Storm Watch in effect from late Tuesday night through

Thursday morning.

The National Weather Service in gray has issued a Winter Storm

Watch which is in effect from late Tuesday night through

Thursday morning.

* Locations: this watch includes all of northern and most of

western New Hampshire and the western Maine mountains and foothills.

* Hazard types: heavy wet snow

* accumulations: 6 or more inches of snow are possible.

* Timing: snow will begin late Tuesday night and continue into

Wednesday. During Wednesday afternoon snow may mix with or

change to rain across southern portions of the watch

area before changing back to snow late in the day.

* Impacts: heavy wet snow will result in hazardous travel

conditions on Wednesday. Additionally the heavy nature of the

snow could result in tree damage and subsequent power outages.

* Winds: north 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.

* Temperatures: in the upper 20s.

* Visibilities: one half mile or less at times on Wednesday.

Precautionary/preparedness actions:

A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant

snow... sleet... or ice accumulations that may impact travel.
