Day before election day

Here in beautiful Augusta Maine, it is 27º again this morning, and it is bright and sunny.

Today's highs are expected to be in the low 50's and mostly sunny with variable winds. Tonight's lows will be in the 30's.

The readings outside right now are:

a relative humidity of 85% with a Dew Point of 27.7ºF.

The temperature is 31.9ºF, with no wind chill.

The wind velocity is presently 0.0 mph, and when it 'puffs' it is  from the North.

Our Barometric pressure is 30.14 and rising.

There was no rain, snow or any other form of precipitation yesterday or during the overnight hours.

Visibility is presently 10.0 miles and almost completely cloudless. We have a fantastic ceiling.

Tomorrow is election day. So remember, if you don't vote, you can't complain about who won!

Before you vote though, ponder the following quotations. I think you will see something there for everyone.

"All Congresses and Parliaments have a kindly feeling for idiots, and a compassion for them, on account of personal experience and heredity"

Mark Twain

"The lightning there is peculiar; it is so convincing, that when it strikes a thing it doesn't leave enough of that thing behind for you to tell whether--Well, you'd think it was something valuable, and a Congressman had been there."

Mark Twain's Speeches, "The Weather"

"It could probably be shown by facts and figures that there is no distinctly native American criminal class except Congress."

Mark Twain- Pudd'nhead Wilson's New Calendar

"I have come to the conclusion that one useless man is a disgrace, that two become a lawfirm, and that three or more become a congress."

John Adams

Men stumble over the truth from time to time, but most pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing happened.

Winston Churchill

The exact contrary of what is generally believed is often the truth.

Jean de La Bruyere

The truth will make you free, but first it will make you miserable.

Tom DeMarco

"A second flood, a simple famine, plagues of locusts everywhere, or a cataclysmic earthquake, I'd accept with some despair. But no, You sent us Congress! Good God, Sir, was that fair?"

John Adams: musical "1776"
