Rainy and Overcast

Good Morning Augusta . This morning it is overcast with ice pellets and snow, then rain showers in the afternoon. High of 46F. Winds from the SSE at 5-15 mph. Chance of precipitation 100% . Tonight it will be partly cloudy. Low of 28F with a windchill as low as 19F. Winds from the WSW at 10-20 mph. Chance of rain 20%. A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather conditions are occurring. Significant amounts of snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an emergency. Coos County in northern New Hampshire and Franklin , Androscoggin, Kennebec, Sagadahoc, Lincoln , Knox and Waldo counties in Maine . * Hazard types... snow * accumulations... 4 to 8 inches of snow. * Timing... snow developing this evening and continuing through Thursday. * Impacts... roads will become snow covered and slippery. The prolonged period of accumulating snow will make clean up efforts more challenging. * Winds... east 5 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. * Temperatures... highs around 30 today... lows 10 to 20 tonight and highs mostly in the 20s Thursday. * Visibilities... lowering to half a mile or lower at times.
