Flood Warning
Statement as of 5:52 am EST on January 16, 2014
The Flood Warning continues for
the Kennebec river at North Sidney.
* From this morning until late tonight.
* At 05am Thursday the stage was 15.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
* Forecast to rise above flood stage by this morning and continue to rise to
near 17.6 feet by this afternoon. The river will fall below flood stage by
this evening.
Dense Fog Advisory
Statement as of 4:12 am EST on January 16, 2014
. Dense fog advisory in effect until 9 am EST this morning...
The National Weather Service in gray has issued a dense fog
advisory... which is in effect until 9 am EST this morning.
* Visibilities... one quarter mile or less at times.
* Timing... dense fog will persist through the morning commute.
* Impacts... visibilities will be reduced to a quarter mile or
less. Drivers should slow down and use caution. Also some areas
could see black ice forming on untreated roads.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be
reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving... slow down...
use your headlights... and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
