Cold rain, freezing rain, and sleet

Good morning Augusta.

If you're just waking up, DO NOT look outside, at least not until you've had some coffee.

This morning it is overcast with rain. High of 54F. Windy. Winds from the SSE at 20 to 25 mph with gusts to 40 mph. Chance of rain 100% with rainfall amounts near 1.3 in. possible.

Tonight it will be overcast with snow, then a chance of snow after midnight. Low of 27F. Breezy. Winds from the SSW at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph shifting to the West after midnight. Chance of snow 80%.

The readings from my own instruments are:

The humidity is 94% with a Dew Point of 47ºF and a wind chill of 48.8 ºF.

The temperature Is 48.8ºF.

We have East Southeast winds  between 5.5 MPH and 10.3 MPH.

Our Barometric pressure is 29.93 HPA 1006 and falling with a weather graphic indicating Rain/Snow.

We have a UV rating of 0 out of 16, sunset will be at 4:02 PM with Moon Rise at 12:36 a.m. EST and the moon phase is waning crescent.

For the pilots out there, Raw Metar readings are:

METAR KAUG 271153Z AUTO 14016G23KT 4SM RA BR SCT003 OVC007 09/08 A2971 RMK AO2 PRESFR SLP063 P0014 60049 70056 I6010 T00890083 10089 21011 58081

Visibility is 4.0 miles/6.4 Kilometers with scattered clouds to 300 ft / 91 m., and overcast to 700 ft / 213 m.

We had about ¾  of an inch of fluffy snow yesterday and it started raining and dropping ice pellets overnight. An accurate measurement is pretty hard to provide, but since yesterday its at about an inch of the measurable stuff so far.

The Bottom line is that if you don't have to go out for anything, don't. Stay home
