Wet and overcast

Good morning Augusta Maine.

This morning it is overcast and raining, chance of rain today is 100%, with highs reaching the 40s with winds gusting between 15 and 20 mph.

Tonight it will be mostly cloudy with an 80% chance of rain after midnight, the temps will be in the 30's with Winds being between 15 and 20 mph.

The readings outside right now are:

a relative humidity of 91% with a Dew Point of 34.5ºF.

The temperature is 36.9ºF with almost no wind chill, but that will change as wind velocity increases today.

The wind velocity is presently between 2.7 mph and 6.9 mph out of the South Southwest.

Our Barometric pressure is 30.01 and falling.

We had precipitation overnight of only 0.03 inches with none recorded in the past hour (it is presently 8:41 a.m.).

Visibility is down to 9.0 miles, it is very cloudy with clouds down to 1,300 feet.

It is worth noting that some points North of Augusta, in particular Bangor, reported ice and freezing rain early this morning, so if you're driving North today, be careful.

Overnight and tomorrow its going to be pretty nasty as well, so if you don't hav your car "blizzard kit" you should get one now. Especially if you travel a lot as a part of your work. IF you aren't from New England or snow country in general, and you don't know what a car snow or blizzard kit is, just ask the person in line behind you at the grocery store the next time you're shopping, they'll explain it to you.
