As of 1:15 this afternoon the outdoor temperature is 33ºF with a wind chill of 18ºF, winds are regularly gusting to around 14 mph. Although it is sunny outside, the temperatures will drop this evening and any melted snow or wet spots on the roads will freeze quickly.

In the cornfield at this location we have already recorded regular gusts of 24 mph, with the 35.6 MPH wind gust with the attendant wind chill.

That kind of wind coupled with unexpected ice on the roads can put your car into a ditch quickly.
