Winter Weather Advisory

Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 3 am to 10 am EST

Saturday.

The National Weather Service in gray has issued a Winter Weather

Advisory for freezing rain which is in effect from 3 am to 10 am EST

Saturday.

* Locations... interior sections of the coastal counties along the

mid coast and southwest Maine.

* Hazard types... freezing rain.

* Accumulations... a trace to five hundredths of an inch of ice.

* Timing... a period of light freezing rain will begin in the pre-

dawn hours of Saturday... but should change over to rain by 9 or

10 am.

* Impacts... untreated roads and surfaces will become icy.

* Winds... northeast 5 to 10 mph.

* Temperatures... starting in the upper 20s... rising to above

freezing by mid morning... and well into 30s by midday.

*Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... or

freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for

slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while

riving.
