Special Statement and Flood advisory in effect

Areal Flood Advisory statement as of 1:41 PM EDT on July 8, 2017 The National Weather Service in Gray Maine has issued a * flood advisory for...  central Kennebec County in south central Maine...  northeastern Androscoggin County in southwestern Maine... * until 345 PM EDT * at 141 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to  thunderstorms producing rainfall rates in excess of one inch per  hour. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. * Some locations that will experience flooding include...  Augusta, Waterville, Fairfield, Oakland, Turner, China, Belgrade, Livermore Falls, Manchester, Winthrop, Benton, Leeds, Livermore, Chesterville, Fayette, Rome, Winslow, Mount Vernon, Vienna and Sidney. Precautionary/preparedness actions... Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying spots.
