Kennebec River At Skowhegan affecting Somerset and Kennebec

Counties.

 

The Flood Warning is cancelled for the following rivers in Maine

Kennebec River At Augusta affecting Kennebec County.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive

cars through flooded areas.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

deaths occur in vehicles.

FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL THIS EVENING

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring.

* WHERE...Kennebec River at Skowhegan.

* WHEN...Until this evening.

* IMPACTS...At 35,000.0 cfs, Flooding begins at campgrounds in

Skowhegan.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

- At 11:15 AM EDT Monday the flow was 37,000.0 cfs.

- Recent Activity...The maximum river flow in the 24 hours

ending at 11:15 AM EDT Monday was 48,000.0 cfs.

- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage

this afternoon and continue falling to 18,100.0 cfs Thursday

morning.

- Flood flow is 35,000.0 cfs.
