New wind chill advisory starting tomorrow

Wind Chill Advisory Statement as of 3:40 PM EST on January 6, 2015 Wind Chill Advisory in effect from 5 PM Wednesday to 10 am EST Thursday. The National Weather Service in gray has issued a Wind Chill Advisory... which is in effect from 5 PM Wednesday to 10 am EST Thursday. * Hazard types... bitter cold wind chill values. * Wind chill... 20 to 30 below zero. * Timing... Wednesday evening through mid morning Thursday. * Impacts... extremely cold wind chills will cause frost bite very quickly. * Winds... northwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. * Temperatures... falling below zero to as cold as 15 below.   Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Wind Chill Advisory means that very cold air and strong winds will combine to generate low wind chills. This will result in frost bite and lead to hypothermia if precautions are not taken. If you must venture outdoors... make sure you wear a hat and gloves.  

Clear and darn cold

Good morning Augusta. We’re still under a wind chill advisory folks, it is real, real nasty out there for pets, kids and those on metabolic medications that impact their ability to feel temperature. Bundle up. This morning it is  overcast, then mostly cloudy. High of 10F. Winds from the WSW at 5 to 10 mph. Tonight it will be overcast in the evening, then mostly cloudy. Low of 9F. Winds less than 5 mph.  The readings from my own weather instruments are: The humidity is 60% with a dew point of -11ºF , Temp is 0.2ºF. and a wind chill of 0.2ºF. Our wind direction is West Southwest between 0.6 MPH and  1.1 MPH.  The Barometric pressure is 30.34 HPA 1026 and rising with a weather graphic indicating sun. The UV rating is 0 out of 16, Sunrise is at 7:14 a.m. sunset is 4:15 PM and Moon Rise is at 6:06 p.m. EDT and the moon phase is a full moon. Wind Chill Advisory Statement as of 3:28 am EST on January 6, 2015 Wind Chill Advisory remains in effect until 10 am EST this morning. * hazard types... very cold wind chills. * Timing... temperatures will not rise significantly until 10 am Tuesday. * Impacts... very cold air may result in frostbite or hypothermia. * Winds... west 5 to 10 mph. * Temperatures... 8 below to 3 above zero. * Wind chill... as low as 25 below due to temperatures 8 below to 3 above zero... and winds west 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Wind Chill Advisory means that very cold air and strong winds will combine to generate low wind chills. This will result in frost bite and lead to hypothermia if precautions are not taken. If you must venture outdoors... make sure you wear a hat and gloves.

Wind Advisory Statement as of 3:08 PM EST on January 5, 2015 Wind Advisory remains in effect until 5 PM EST this afternoon. * winds... west 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. * Timing... winds will rapidly become strong and gusty by mid to  late morning. * Impacts... downed trees or tree limbs resulting in power  outages.   Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.  

Wind advisory on top of the wind chill...

Good morning Augusta. We are under a wind advisory from 10 a.m. this morning to 5 p.m. this evening. This is in addition to the wind chill advisory. This is serious folks, don’t ignore it. Be mindful of pets and your generator for potential power outages. This morning it is  partly cloudy. High of 28F with a windchill as low as -2F. Breezy. Winds from the West at 15 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph. Tonight it will be  clear. Low of -4F with a windchill as low as -18F. Breezy. Winds from the WNW at 10 to 20 mph.  The readings from my own weather instruments are: The humidity is 48% with a dew point of 15ºF , Temp is 31.5ºF. and a wind chill of 14ºF. Our wind direction is Souththwest between 12.4 MPH and  20.7 MPH.  The Barometric pressure is 29.74 HPA 1004 and falling with a weather graphic indicating snow.
