Sunny but cool

Good Morning Augusta. This morning it is partly cloudy, then clear. High of 59F. Winds from the NNW at 5 to 10 mph. Tonight it will be clear, then mostly cloudy. Low of 37F. Winds less than 5 mph. The readings outside right now, taken from my own weather instruments: a relative humidity of 48% with a Dew Point of 24.1ºF. The temperature is 40.2ºF with a very low wind chill. Since we had such gusty winds over the weekend, I thought I'd repost this information about wind and how it is measured. Wet, rainy and under a Flood Advisory

Good Morning Augusta, There is a Flood Watch in effect from 2 PM EDT this afternoon for us through Monday evening. The National Weather Service in gray has issued a Flood Watch for portions of western Maine and New Hampshire. This advisory includes the following areas in western Maine: Androscoggin, coastal Cumberland, coastal Waldo, coastal York, interior Cumberland, interior Waldo, interior York, Kennebec, Knox, Lincoln, Sagadahoc, southern Franklin and southern Oxford and southern Somerset. light to moderate rainfall today will give way to heavier rainfalls overnight into tomorrow. The highest amounts will be centered along the coastal plain and foothills. Total rainfall amounts will be between 1 and 3 inches with locally higher amounts. Flooding of poor drainage and urban areas is anticipated along with potential small stream flooding. A few mainstem rivers may approach flood stage.
