Minding Safety

How many times have you caught yourself reading labels in the grocery store to find out exactly what is in the product you are using in case of harmful

side effects? If you haven’t done this in the store you most likely have been reading labels in your home so you know what products to keep away from your

children, where your children play, and where your pets might come in contact with these cleaners. Because all of the products listed in this book are

natural you will not find any chemical effects or harmful effects to your children, your pets or your home as a result of using them in cleaning your home.

Many of these items do contain remarks about keeping out of reach of children. Please still adhere to these warnings as with all products; you keep in your

home. Reading the labels on your products will also help protect our environment and the earth long into the future. If you are prone to allergic reactions

to cleaners and chemicals, organic cleaners will help you over come these allergies.

When you make your own cleaners, you will need to keep these out of reach of children as well. They could spill a mixture and stain your flooring, their

clothes, or get a cleaner in their eyes. Never make your homemade cleaners in any type of food or drink container. Always use the Mr Yuk sticker, if you

have some, or at very least draw an ugly face on cleaner bottle and teach your children that they should not touch.

There are still going to be times when you find that you will prefer using a chemical cleaner in your home, but cutting down on the chemicals that you use

in your home is a great start in cutting pollution. The use of chemicals in the home can cause pollution that is ‘stuck’ within the air that you breath.

One most important note while discussing mixing home cleaners is that you should never mix different cleaners together thinking or hoping that you will

come up with a stronger household cleaner.

Some of the most important chemical cleaners that you should never mix are: bleach, oven cleaners, dishwasher soaps, or toilet cleaners. You can’t mix chemicals

and additional natural additives or you will create gasses with could kill or harm your lungs. Mixing chemicals and additives will never make a stronger

cleaner only a more dangerous cleaner.

Keep in mind that many of the basic ingredients that you will be using for organic cleaning in your home can work wonders, but they might require a little

extra elbow grease to get the same results as chemical cleaners.
