These tips come from a book entitled “The Secrets of salt” which you can get on line almost for free.

Beauty and Health Salt Uses

A box of salt is an important item in many bathrooms and you will find this box of salt most effective for many of your health and beauty needs. When made

as a mild solution with water, salt makes an excellent mouthwash, gargle, or even eyewash. Salt is also an effective dentifrice; it is used, as an effective

antiseptic; and salt can be extremely helpful as a massage element to improve complexion. Read on to learn more about how to use salt for your body.

Sores and Wounds. If you have a sore or have suffered a wound then salt can help with the healing process. Either add a teaspoon of salt to a pint of warm

water and bathe the area. You can also add a couple of handfuls of salt to your warm bath. The salt will help the wound or sore heal faster. This method

will also work with postoperative wounds.

Give your face a lift! Use this recipe to exfoliate to leave your skin soft and glowing. Mix the juice from 1 lemon with 2 parts coarse salt and 1 part

olive oil to make a paste. Step into the shower and massage onto body. Turn on the shower and rinse. Pat dry and apply a rich moisturizer for a healthy

and glowing skin!

If you are searching for a method to soothe skin after an insect bit, make a solution of hot salted water and either dip the area in the solution or spray

the solution on the bite area for a quick relief that is also inexpensive.

If you have bumped your head and have a goose egg, you can make a salt and vinegar paste, apply to the head, and the pain of the injury will lessen.

Do you have problems with calluses on your hands and feet? An inexpensive solution is to use a little bit of dry salt (just a tablespoon or so will do)

and rub the areas, and then use a little touch of dry sugar and rub the calluses until your hands or feet are softer.

To ease a sore throat, using a glass of warm water add one half teaspoon of salt and gargle for about thirty seconds. Repeat this two or three times a day

to feel better. This is an inexpensive solution to kill germs and promote health.

Are you longing for a clean feeling mouth? You can make your own toothpaste that really cleans by using one part salt to two parts baking soda. Take this

mixture and add just a few drops of liquid to make a paste. Then brush away! The baking soda and salt mixture will clean your teeth while keeping plaque

at bay.

If you want to have fresh breath it doesn’t mean you have to buy expensive mouth washes to achieve this. Use one tablespoon of salt, one tablespoon of baking

soda and about two tablespoons of water to create a mouthwash that will sweeten your breath!

Do you often work with dusty materials in the home or at work? You can create your own eyewash by using one half teaspoon of salt and about a pint of water.

Use this solution in a squirt bottle to clean out your eyes of particles. You can use this same solution on a wet cloth and hold on your eyes if you feel

you have tired eyes. Salt water rejuvenates your tired eye feeling.

To soak tired feet, achy bodies or to relieve stress – fill a tub full of warm to hot water and add about two cups of salt. The gentle relief of salt will

relax you. Using salt in your bath also treats your skin for dryness. There are many types of bath salts available to meet your fragrance needs when taking

a relaxing salt bath as well. You can find these bath salts in most grocery or retail stores anywhere.

Bad poison ivy rashes can be very itchy and can make for a long day if you don’t put an end to the problem quickly. To bring a quick end to your itchy skin,

create a salt-water paste and apply to the infected areas to pull out the poison.

At one time or another most of us have went to a holiday party and had too much too drink. To help your body get rid of a hang over and to restore balance

to your body, drink a glass of warm water with a teaspoon of salt. Alcohol depletes your body of salt and water, drinking the salt water will help balance

your bodies needs.

If you suffer from cold sores, you already know that the lingering sore can last for up to a week. This tip is not for the faint hearted, but you can speed

up the drying of a cold sore using salt. Simply grind some table salt between two spoons. Dampen your finger and dip it into the salt powder. Press your

powdered finger onto the cold sore and hold for 30 seconds. It will sting, but if you repeat this treatment 2 to 3 times a day the cold sore will dry up

and disappear after just a couple of days.
