...EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON WEDNESDAY TO 8 PM EDT

THURSDAY...

* WHAT...For the Heat Advisory, heat index values up to 94 this

afternoon. For the Excessive Heat Warning on Wednesday,

dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 105

expected.

* WHERE...In Maine, Kennebec, Southern Somerset, and Southern

Franklin Counties. In New Hampshire, Northern Carroll County.

* WHEN...For the Heat Advisory, until 8 PM EDT this evening. For the

Excessive Heat Warning, from noon Wednesday to 8 PM EDT Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during

extreme heat and high humidity events.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Warm overnight low temperatures in the 70s

will result in cumulative heat stress.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of

the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
