...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

...EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING NOW IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 8 PM EDT

WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...For the Heat Advisory, heat index values up to 100 expected

this afternoon and 95 to 105 for the warning on Wednesday.

* WHERE...Portions of south central, southwest, and western Maine

and central, northern, and southern New Hampshire.

* WHEN...For the Heat Advisory, until 8 PM EDT this evening. For the

Excessive Heat Warning, from noon to 8 PM EDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during

extreme heat and high humidity events.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Warm overnight low temperatures in the 70s

will result in greater cumulative heat stress.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of

the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
