Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of Kennebec, southeastern Oxford and Androscoggin Counties through 615 PM EDT.
At 5:32 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Mechanic Falls to near Turner to near
Litchfield. Movement was northeast at 35 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Lewiston, Auburn, Augusta, Waterville, Gardiner, Mechanic Falls,
Turner, Oakland, China, Litchfield, Belgrade, Livermore Falls,
Farmingdale, Manchester, Hallowell, Canton, Winthrop, Lisbon, Greene,
and Bowdoin.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 295 between mile markers 49 and 51.
Interstate 95 between mile markers 79 and 126.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for
western, south central and southwestern Maine.
