We’re under a Flood Watch from this afternoon through tomorrow

This morning we have a chance of showers, then rain this afternoon. Rain may be heavy at times during afternoon hours. Highs in the mid 60s with light and variable winds.

Tonight we’ll have rain with a slight chance of thunderstorms during evening hours, then a chance of thunderstorms after midnight. Patchy fog after midnight with rain which may be heavy at times. Lows in the upper 50s. Winds will be East around 10 mph, becoming north after midnight. Gusts up to 30 mph are possible.

We didn’t  receive any rain here over the past 24 hours.

The wind is North between 1.3 MPH and 2.9 MPH.  .

Low pressure moving northward off the Mid Atlantic Coast will move into the Gulf of Maine tonight. This low will be accompanied by tropical moisture and the result will be rain, heavy at times starting today and lasting through tonight. Flooding will be possible including a few instances of flash flooding.

FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH TUESDAY MORNING

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...Portions of Maine, including the following areas,

Androscoggin, Central Interior Cumberland, Central Somerset,

Coastal Cumberland, Coastal Waldo, Interior Cumberland Highlands,

Interior Waldo, Kennebec, Knox, Lincoln, Northern Franklin,

Northern Oxford, Sagadahoc, Southern Franklin, Southern Oxford and

Southern Somerset. Portions of northern New Hampshire, including

the following areas, Northern Carroll, Northern Grafton, Southern

Carroll, Southern Coos and Southern Grafton.

 

* WHEN...From this afternoon through Tuesday morning.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,

creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Isolated

instances of flash flooding will be possible.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

- Heavy rainfall, with totals of 1.5 to 3 inches expected.

Isolated instances of up to 4 inches will be possible.
