Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of south central Kennebec, southeastern Androscoggin, west central Lincoln, east central Cumberland and Sagadahoc Counties through 5:00 PM EDT.
At 4:32 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Litchfield to near Auburn. Movement was east at
45 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Lewiston, Auburn, Brunswick, Bath, Gardiner, Topsham, Wiscasset,
Litchfield, Woolwich, Lisbon, Durham, Bowdoin, Bowdoinham, Dresden,
Alna, Sabattus, Richmond, West Bath, Wales and Pittston.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 295 between mile markers 28 and 48.
Interstate 95 between mile markers 81 and 98.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 800 PM EDT for
south central and southwestern Maine.
