FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM EDT THIS EVENING THROUGH MONDAY
MORNING.
* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
* WHERE...Portions of south central and southwest Maine, including
the following areas, in south central Maine, Coastal Waldo,
Interior Waldo, Kennebec, Knox, Lincoln, Sagadahoc and Southern
Somerset. In southwest Maine, Androscoggin.
* WHEN...From 6 PM EDT this evening through Monday morning.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of smaller
rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone
locations.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Low pressure developing off the coast tonight into Monday
morning will combine to produce a band of heavy rainfall
across the watch area. 1 to 3 inches of rain is likely with a
few higher amounts possible. This combined with already wet
ground may increase the chance for localized flash flooding.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
You should monitor the latest forecast and be prepared to take
action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
