#MEwx Special Statement now in effect

Special Statement Expires 11:00 AM EDT on March 22, 2019

Statement as of 7:18 am EDT on March 22, 2019

A few hours of heavy wet snow and slippery travel possible

this morning.

A band of precipitation associated with low pressure will affect

the coastal plain of Maine and portions of adjacent New Hampshire

this morning. Temperatures are marginally cold for accumulating

snow, but could cool down enough to allow for snow to accumulate

between 8 am and noon. Where the snow becomes heavy, it will

likely accumulate on roads, especially secondary roads away from

the immediate coast. Slippery travel is likely through midday. The

precipitation will lighten in intensity around midday, and allow

temperatures to rise well above freezing. This should allow for

mainly wet roads for the late afternoon and evening commute. 1 to

3 inches of snow will be possible, with locally higher amounts

possible well away from the coast.
