Sagadahoc County in south central Maine...
Lincoln County in south central Maine...
eastern Oxford County in western Maine...
northern Cumberland County in Maine...
southern Kennebec County in south central Maine...
* until 1:00 PM EDT
* at 702 am... Doppler radar continued to show bands of heavy showers
and scattered thunderstorms moving into southern Maine... mainly from
eastern Oxford County and points east towards the midcoast region.
More showers and storms will enter this region this morning as they
move north out of the Gulf of Maine at 30 mph.
Most areas in this region will receive an inch or two rainfall from
this system. However... locally heavy downpours will allow a few
communities to receive 3 to 5 inches of rain. This will likely lead
to flooding in some communities this morning.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Flood Warning means flooding is occurring or is imminent. Most
flood related deaths occur in automobiles. Do not attempt to cross
water covered bridges... dips... or low water crossings. Never try to
cross a flowing stream... even a small one... on foot. To escape rising
water move up to higher ground.
