Mixed precipitation will change to rain, heavy at times overnight.

This combined with snowmelt will allow for localized flooding, especially in urban and poor drainage areas.

FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT EST TONIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...Portions of south central and southwest Maine, including the following areas, in Maine, Central Interior Cumberland. In south central Maine, Coastal Waldo, Interior Waldo, Kennebec,

Knox, Lincoln, Sagadahoc and Southern Somerset. In southwest Maine, Androscoggin, Coastal Cumberland, Coastal York and Interior York.

* WHEN...From Midnight EST tonight through Friday morning.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of smaller streams and low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

- 1 to 2 inches of rain with locally higher amounts combined with snowmelt will cause excessive runoff later tonight and Friday morning.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood

Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared

to take action should flooding develop.
