This isn’t a sloppy joe recipe nor is it a “real berger” recipe.  But it’s a pleasingly different type of berger and is very tasty.

TURKEY STUFFING BURGERS

4 servings

1 container (2 cups) Slow Cooker Turkey Breast with Wild Rice Stuffing, thawed if frozen

1 egg, slightly beaten

½ cup saltine cracker crumbs

2 tbsps butter or margarine

4 hamburger buns, split

1 cup shredded lettuce

2 medium tomatoes, sliced

Whole berry cranberry sauce, if desired

Mix turkey mixture and egg; shape into 4 patties. Coat with cracker crumbs.  Melt butter in 12-inch skillet over medium heat. Cook patties in butter 4 to 5 minutes on each side or until hot and golden brown.  Serve patties on buns topped with lettuce, tomatoes and cranberry sauce.   Serve with SWEET POTATO FRIES (taste great with these sandwiches).  To make, cut 4 medium sweet potatoes into ½ inch wedges and toss with 2 tbsps vegetable oil.  Sprinkle with ½ tsp salt and ¼ tsp pepper.  Place potatoes in single layer in greased jelly roll pan.  Bake uncovered in 450 oven for 25 to 30 minutes, turning potatoes occasionally, until potatoes are golden brown and tender when pierced with fork.
