Statement as of 4:20 am EDT on March 30, 2014
Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 8 PM this evening to
8 am EDT Monday...
The National Weather Service in gray has issued a Winter Weather
Advisory for freezing rain... which is in effect from 8 PM this
evening to 8 am EDT Monday.
* Hazard types... freezing rain.
* Accumulations... snow accumulation less than 1 inch... along with
up to one tenth of an inch of ice.
* Timing... freezing rain will begin this evening and mix with
sleet. Freezing rain will change back to plain rain Monday
morning. Sleet may mix with the rain on Monday.
* Impacts... slippery travel.
* Winds... north 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
* Temperatures... in the upper 20s to low 30s.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.

Flood Watch remains in effect through Monday afternoon...
The Flood Watch continues for
* portions of western Maine and New Hampshire... including the
following areas... in western Maine... Androscoggin... coastal
Cumberland... coastal Waldo... coastal York... interior
Cumberland... interior Waldo... interior York... Kennebec...
Knox... Lincoln... Sagadahoc... southern Franklin... southern
Oxford and southern Somerset. In New Hampshire... Belknap...
coastal Rockingham... interior Rockingham... Merrimack...
northern Carroll... northern Grafton... southern Carroll...
southern Grafton... Strafford and Sullivan.
* Through Monday afternoon
* rainfall of 1 to 3 inches... with locally higher amounts
possible... is expected tonight through Monday. This excessive
rainfall and snowmelt may cause flooding on rivers... small
creeks... and urban areas. Ice may begin moving on some rivers
also... so ice jams may also present a flood threat.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
