The National Weather Service in Gray Maine has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
northern Kennebec County in south central Maine...
southeastern Somerset County in west central Maine...
southeastern Franklin County in western Maine...
northwestern Waldo County in south central Maine...

* until 615 PM EDT...

* at 521 PM EDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a
line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds in
excess of 60 mph. These storms were located along a line extending
from 7 miles north of Bingham to 12 miles southwest of Madison... or
along a line extending from 25 miles west of Guilford to 6 miles
east of Farmington... and moving east at 50 mph.

* Some locations in the warning include but are not limited to
Madison... Norridgewock... Skowhegan... Fairfield... Clinton and
Pittsfield.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Doppler radar has indicated some weak rotation within this storm.
While not immediately likely... a tornado may still develop. If a
tornado is spotted... act quickly and move to a place of safety in a
sturdy structure... such as a basement or small interior room.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 800 PM EDT Sunday
evening for southwestern Maine and New Hampshire.
