The impending "Fiscal cliff" –

Both political parties are predicting gloom and doom if the other party doesn't "compromise" – meaning they other guy needs to admit they are wrong.

I have two questions:

First, if this is so darn critical, why didn't the politician handle it last time around? Could it have had anything to do with posturing the economy for the election?

Second, how come the big business special interest CEO types didn't have any trouble coughing up $60 Billion dollars in campaign contributions, but are now, reportedly saying that they won't hire anyone or will even lay people off if Washington doesn't do things "their way"?

Republicans: You took a pasting this past election because you said no to anything that didn't adhere to your policy.

Democrats: You won this past election because we were sick of the GOP's antics. Don't make the same mistakes they did.
